What is the point in offering the greatest safety and security if it isn’t going to be provided on a 24/7 basis?
ISLAND has its very own 24-hour security/concierge – so you are in safe hands at any time of the day or night, from midnight to the afternoon.
A state of the art CCTV system monitors the grounds, car park and entrance lobby of ISLAND, while there are also audio and video entry phone systems for each apartment. All of these measures help to ensure that absolutely no unauthorised person can reach your apartment or penthouse.

The broadest range of security measures

ISLAND offers many perks to the prospective London home mover

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference - in your home as much as in your life in general. This is why we would like to highlight some of the less talked-about advantages of purchasing some of the most stunning living accommodation in Croydon today.

A free Zipcar membership
If you are moving to London, where public transport is the main way of getting from A to B, it would be understandable to choose to leave your car behind.
There are some situations, however, where a car may be required - such as when embarking on a large shopping run, buying furniture or jetting off on a weekend away.

This is where the services of Zipcar come in handy. The international car club is a cheap alternative to car rental – as a member, you simply choose from the selection of cars and vans from the nearest Zipcar location, and duly go.

Should you purchase a property with ISLAND, you will benefit from a single year's free membership with £50 driving credit. We’ll even cover fuel, insurance and your congestion charge too.
The utmost in privacy and security
Whether or not you have previously lived in a block of apartments in a busy cosmopolitan city, it is completely natural to have concerns about your privacy and security.

With ISLAND, however , it’s another story. This elegant 20-storey tower is a fully-secured, gated community – a place of peace amid the hustle and bustle of London.
ISLAND boasts all-encompassing 24-hour security, with the grounds, car park and entrance lobby all CCTV-monitored. Furthermore, every apartment and penthouse features an audio and video entry phone system.

However, these are just a few of the many security features that will help to make you feel absolutely safe as an ISLAND resident, so feel free to contact us if you have any further queries or concerns.

You will be doing your bit for the planet
10% of the energy used by everyone living in ISLAND is provided by renewable energy production methods, which impressively minimises the building's overall carbon footprint.

Then, there's our onsite collection scheme that maximises the use of rainwater, in our pleasant communal garden in particular.

Still not convinced? Give ISLAND a call today to find out more about the properties we still have for sale within this jaw-dropping glass-fronted development in the heart of the greatest city in the world – but hurry, they’re moving fast.

Making ISLAND your new home? Here are some last-minute moving tips

Moving home can be one of the most stressful things that you ever do in life – even if it’s to somewhere as welcoming, safe and well-equipped as ISLAND.
If you are in the process of looking at properties in Croydon or anywhere else for that matter, you’re in luck – we’ve compiled some of the best tried-and-tested (and often overlooked) tips and advice on moving that you’re likely to find.

Be ruthless

It’s surprising how many boxes and bags can be filled with things that you haven’t used in a while, and probably won’t use after you’ve moved.

With possessions like clothing, DVDS/CDs and anything else fairly disposable, make three piles – ‘bin’, ‘reuse/recycle/give away’ and ‘keep’. Sort the items accordingly, and you’re good to go.
If you’re worried about a lack of anything to watch on telly after this, don’t fret. All of the apartments in ISLAND come equipped with multimedia network cabling and Freeview connection as standard. You also have the opportunity to upgrade to a Sky satellite TV subscription if you so please.
You’re never far away from shopping opportunities in Croydon either, should you massively regret binning that box set.

Pack an overnight bag

Gather up all of your essentials into an overnight bag before you begin packing. Once you do make the move, it's almost guaranteed that you will be too tired to immediately unpack all of your things.
Pack a few changes of clothes, toiletries, a laptop, chargers and anything else you wish to have within easy access during your move – it’s surprising how many people will pack something they desperately need right at the bottom of a box.
We wouldn’t blame you for wanting to kick back and relax once you arrive at your new apartment. After all, all of the bedrooms in ISLAND are fitted with underfloor heating and come with a Freeview TV as standard.

You will be in safe hands when moving in with ISLAND, not least as we have 24-hour security, as well as CCTV throughout the building.

For more information on purchasing a property at ISLAND, don’t hesitate to contact us – our few remaining apartments and penthouses are moving fast.

Croydon can't possibly be rich in culture... can it?

Although some may be accustomed to seeing Croydon as 'just a town', many others - especially actual past and present residents of the area - appreciate just what a wealth of culture this part of London has to offer.
Indeed, it is this cultural richness that is one of the main attractions for people who are considering living in Croydon, particularly ISLAND, which is one of the locality's most desirable property developments yet.

Music lovers will be stuck for choice
Croydon is home to the infamous Brit School, which has spawned music stars such as Adele, Amy Winehouse and the Kooks, to name a few.

Fairfield Halls, meanwhile, is a long-established venue that plays host to some of the biggest names in music, comedy and theatre. The Beatles, Queen and Johnny Cash have all played here, to name just a small proportion of past distinguished guests.

Appearances in the media
If you are contemplating a new life in Croydon, the likelihood is that you have had a good look around the area already, even if you have never visited in person, thanks to several popular TV shows.
Popular Channel 4 comedy Peep Show is set in the town, while ITV police drama The Bill also had many of its scenes filmed here. Croydon has also appeared on many other TV shows and even music videos.
The main conference hall of the aforementioned Fairfield Halls was also used in the opening of blockbuster film The Da Vinci Code, so keep your eyes peeled.

Don't be fooled by the 'old' Croydon!
Are those the only captivating cultural sights and sounds in Croydon? Not in the slightest, as there’s also an abundance of theatres, libraries and sightseeing opportunities for you to take in as a Croydon resident. Quite frankly, you'll never have a boring moment when living here.
Tempted to make the big move? If so, get in touch with us about an ISLAND penthouse or apartment - there really is very little better accommodation in which to make your debut in the English capital, especially at this price point.
Contemporary living without the London price tag
Every one of the rooms at ISLAND is equipped with state-of-the-art appliances in both the bathroom and kitchen, and comes with multimedia network cabling and a Freeview connection as standard. With regard to latter, you also have the choice to upgrade to Sky satellite TV.

With 24-hour security, an electronically secured car park and an audio/video entry phone system for each apartment, there’s no safer or otherwise superior place in Croydon than ISLAND to consider for your next move. For more information about the area or ISLAND or to make an enquiry about available penthouses or apartments, don’t hesitate to contact us today.

Customers and staff celebrate exciting change to ECL

This month, customers from our Basildon and Harlow Wellbeing Hubs celebrated our rebrand in style, inviting friends and family down to the Hubs to spread the news of our transformation to ECL, the new Care & Wellbeing Company – a leading elderly care service provider.

Harlow kicked off the events with a pirate themed partywhere staff and customers were swashbucklers for the day; proudly clad head to toe in skull emblazoned garments, a wave of eye patches and uncountable (plastic!) cutlasses plunging into the delicious and very much appropriately branded, ECL celebration cake.

Customers were seen walking the plank, the brink of brain freeze from an ice-cream eating competition as well as hoopla and other activities.

Ashleigh Wellbeing Hub followed on with the excitement by hosting a tea and cake party at the Barley Twist Diner, offering a range of delectable homemade treats to the local community who attended that day. The staff at the centre really pulled together and delivered an exceptional event, thinking of every detail to really impress.

Guests were able to get a feel of what the centre delivers on a daily basis through tours around the Hub, seeing the customers in action with a range of engaging activities.

The Hub really came to life with not only the beautiful customer artwork that flooded the walls, but with the buzz of activity all around the centre.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the celebrations happen!

ISLAND's fortunes soar after troubled beginnings

The building formerly known as IYLO may have faced a tough start in life - famously so, from the perspective of many local residents - but it is now fulfilling its promise after finally being completed and rebranded as ISLAND.

Work was first started on the building seven years ago, but construction is now finally done and residents have been moving in. The 20-storey tower offers London living without the price tag that you might expect from such a facility, with a host of well-appointed one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Each of ISLAND's apartments and penthouses offers either a terrace or balcony. Floor-to-ceiling windows in each of them offer exceptional views of one of the world's truly great cities. Those heading down to ground level are able to explore and unwind in idyllic landscaped gardens, and residents are only a few steps away from West and East Croydon stations. Public transports links are numerous, so you can get to wherever you need to be whether you're travelling by bus, train or tram.

The complex is situated just steps away from Central Croydon, which offers a host of exciting shops, restaurants, bars, live music venues, theatres and cinemas. Although ISLAND didn't have the greatest start when it still known as IYLO, construction gathered pace a few years ago and the complex has now been unveiled and opened its doors to residents.

Progress was initially halted when the previous owner went into administration, but the new team in charge has brought genuinely secure funding, along with a determination to fulfil ISLAND's destiny as one of the most sought-after places to live in the capital.

The completed ISLAND comprises 183 luxurious penthouses and apartments, as well as a standard-raising lobby and reception area. Like the area it is situated in, ISLAND is ready to move onto bigger and better things after changing its image remarkably. Croydon was once seen as one of the most run-down and undesirable areas of London, prior to the significant amount of investment that it has received in recent years.

The town is now home to a number of the world's most prominent tech firms. In 2017, it will also become the home of a brand new, high-profile shopping centre, designed to be among the most impressive in the UK. It all means that when one moves into a new ISLAND apartment or penthouse, they can look forward to a luxurious and rewarding lifestyle, both now and for years into the future as the locality's fortunes continue to rise with those of the one-time IYLO.
