Mr Fothergill’s Seeds

Here at Seeds By Post (http://www.seedsbypost.co.uk) our customers of top quality vegetable seeds and flower seeds use us time and time again for reliability and value for money. Producing high quality seeds is a specialist business and that’s exactly why we always stock the best producers. One of our most popular brands is Mr Fothergills Seeds, the quality of which is so good we decided to stock the entire range.

Like many companies, Mr Fothergills Seeds started from humble beginnings, selling seeds from their stable block at their farm in Newmarket, which incidentally was the home of Lilly Langtry some time before. That was in 1978. At that time they were selling in small quantities to individuals and local garden centres but their quality meant that the company soon gained a great reputation and quickly grew into the company we see today, providing some 900 different types of flower, vegetable and herb seeds.

Mr Fothergill’s ranges are split into the following categories: Vegetable Explorer, Naturally Disease Tolerant, Contained Garden, Oriental Vegetables, Herb Garden, Wildflower Garden and Marvelous Mushrooms.

Our Mr Fothergill’s best sellers include:
Ishikura Spring Onion – A great salad onion that doesn’t bulb, grows long delicious stalks and leaves little waste once prepared. They’re quick to mature, long lasting and just £2.09.
Scarlet Globe Radish – Radishes are great for any grower as they’re ideal for planting between rows of plants that are slower to mature and you can pack a lot in. And these crimson beauties with delicious flesh, stay crisp for long periods and are just £1.29.
Russian Tarragon – Increasingly popular as an alternative to the more refined taste of French tarragon, this plant is a hardy perennial and easy to grow. Start them off on a warm window sill before planting out and watching them grow to a height of 1m. And they’re just £1.79.
Thai Basil – Grow this attractive plant outdoors, in the greenhouse or on a warm windowsill and you´ll enjoy its decorative leaves and its great flavour when added to salads and pasta.
Sweet Pea Chelsea Centenary – This hardy annual has sweetly scented flowers on slender stems and will flower where it’s planted.  It will have up to 7 blooms per stem, is ideal for climbing up a trellis and is just £1.99.
Mixed Verbascum Phoenicium – These should be planted indoors and, when young plants, gently made accustomed to the weather outdoors, and they will flower in the same year they’re planted. Their spikes of white, rose, red and violet flowers make ideal backdrops to planting schemes and are great against fences and walls.

Mr Fothergill’s business motto is “Growing Inspiration in Your Garden” and with so many varieties to choose fro, our customers of vegetables seeds and flower seeds as well as top quality herbs, think there’s something to inspire everyone. And at Seeds By Post (http://www.seedsbypost.co.uk) we have a massive range of mail order seeds that get you thinking and get you planting.
