Marbella forms key part of property 'Golden Triangle'

With there being so many obvious reasons for people to spend time in Marbella - ranging from its advantageous climate and fascinating heritage to some excellent bars, clubs and restaurants and a packed cultural calendar - it's not surprising that Marbella luxury homes are so sought-after. Indeed, many may be surprised by the wide range of such properties that can be found at tempting prices in Marbella and throughout the wider Costa del Sol.

That impression has only been further cemented by new figures released by Marbella Town Hall that make clear the existence of a property 'Golden Triangle' in the region, encompassing Estepona and Benahavis as well as Marbella. 2014's first few months alone have seen the issuing of building licences to 18 new residential construction projects with a combined worth of €9 million. Should these figures be replicated across the year, the number of new luxury residences in the region this year will be more than twice that of 2013, when 64 properties were built.

Such momentum won't surprise keen watchers of the market for Marbella luxury homes, given Malaga College of Architects data showing that the period since 2012 has seen the construction in the region from scratch of 119 new properties with a cost exceeding €300,000. This is 20 per cent higher than in the previous two years. Marbella Town Hall also confirmed that Marbella was the choice of location for 62 per cent of investors commissioning property, although Estepona and Benahavis were also in demand. British buyers were the source of the greatest interest and investment, also plenty of enquiries were also fielded by Germans and Scandinavians.

People looking to realise a dream of moving to Spain are therefore likely to find considerable choice of Marbella luxury homes. Those who do make the move will certainly have a lot of exciting events to keep track of, with those set to take place over the coming weeks including the Marbella Poker Festival. The event consists of two special tournaments, the bwin.es World Poker Tour Bwin.es and The Grand Live, and runs from April 4th to 17th.

Such high-profile events are just one more reason why Marbella luxury homes remain in such strong demand - and Marbella Dream Living is happy to use all of its experience in assisting those who are still seeking the perfect property in the region.
