6 more unusual promotional video ideas

Work with Captive8 Media on your creative videos, and you'll get a lot of things right. You can look forward to original, captivating and superbly-produced videos that make your company memorable. But what if you just don't know what kind of video you want?

In that case, just check out our list of more unusual ideas for promotional videos.

1. Interview your employees

You presumably interviewed your employees before you hired them, so why not do it again now that they're at your company? They're the best ambassadors for your firm, after all. They also give your organisation a human face on what may otherwise be a fairly impersonal company website.

2. Create a video tour

Another way of making your customers and clients feel closer to your company is by taking them well 'behind the scenes'... to your workplace or office. Or maybe just give them a tour of your city? Make sure the video is professionally edited, however - an amateur Blair Witch style effort might not tally well with your desired brand image.

3. Discuss the latest industry news

For as long as something is happening in your industry, you'll always have material for your promotional videos. Even if you don't think you have much original to say on a particular story, people will watch if you simply have an engaging presentation style and personality.

4. Make a list video

Lists obviously work pretty well, given that you're reading one right now. So why not create list-format promotional videos? It could be a list of 'top 10' tips related to your industry, news stories that have caught your eye lately, step-by-step instructions... well, pretty much anything.

5. Explain a complex process or system

For businesses in especially technical sectors or where there can be a lot of jargon involved putting off the layperson, it can be a good idea to create promotional videos explaining various processes in bite-sized chunks. Banish some mystery and make things easier to understand, and you'll be well on the way to attracting more customers or clients.

6. Respond to viewer comments

Has a certain issue persistently cropped up in comments made by viewers on past videos? If so, create a new video to comment on it, giving answers to any queries and explaining your company's angle on the matter.
