What spares, accessories and ancillary items may you need to invest in?

Organisations that take seriously their obligation to protect employees, as well as the obvious good business case of safeguarding their assets, will always be on the lookout for the latest smoke alarms and other products that allow them to do so cost-effectively, and to the highest standard. We certainly recognise that here at UK-FP (http://www.uk-fp.co.uk), which is why we also have many spares, accessories and ancillary items as may be needed to ensure fire safety from time to time.

Such fire products include the Fire Log Book from TSF. This is not an optional extra but actually an imperative investment, given the need for a fire safety logbook and maintenance record to always be on the premises at any given time. The register helps you to prove that you are complying with your legal responsibilities as far as fire safety is concerned, and it should be completed after any of the items that the legislation requires have been inspected, tested and maintained. At any one time, the logbook should be able to be inspected by any service engineer or even Fire Officer who carries out an inspection of your premises under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Other in-demand spares, accessories and ancillary items of ours include an automatic key operated emergency lighting test switch that is wired on a permanent basis to the emergency luminaire supply. For pre-programmed periods, you can use the key switch to interrupt the supply. Once that time period comes to an end, supply is automatically reinstated to the luminaries. This removes the risk of the emergency fitting's batteries becoming depleted as a result of their being connected for prolonged periods. Secure access is provided by the key switch and test periods of 10 minutes, 1 hour and 3 hours are possible.

Also taking pride of place in the UK-FP range is the Freedor Wireless Fire Door Closer. This unique wireless solution comes courtesy of the Fireco brand, and makes it possible for users to hold fire doors open at any angle. It also automatically closes the door when fire alarms sound. This fire door closer is easily installed at the top of the fire door and is simple, unobtrusive and neat. Its features include an adjustable closing speed, the ability to operate up to power size 4 (80kg fire door) and a night-time release facility. It also sports fail-to-safe technology and is designed to comply with the likes of BS EN 1154 and BS 7273-4 category B.

With other items in the accessories, spares and ancillary items range including an LED Bulkhead Emergency Light Fitting, Fuse Spur (BS5839 Compliant) Red Isolator Unit and even a Dorgard Fire Door Retainer, we'd like to think that here at UK-FP (http://www.uk-fp.co.uk), we have everything that you need for fire safety well beyond the usual alarms and extinguishers.
