Bailey Caravans

When people look at used caravans for sale they want a trusted supplier that really knows the market and one that has a wide range of caravans to choose from. Did you know that at Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk/) we stock all the major UK caravan brands? We’d like to spend today’s article looking at just one leading manufacturer that we are proud to provide to our customers: Bailey Caravans.

Bailey started producing their iconic vehicles that are hugely popular with buyers of used touring caravans back in 1948. Indeed that makes them the longest running UK manufacturer, and during their sixty years plus of experience they have been at the forefront of innovation and production. Over that time they have put a lot of time and effort into research initiatives including towing stability and conceptualising the caravans of the future, whilst continuing to develop their product’s overall comfort, efficiency and style. It is estimated that one in three new caravans sold in this country are made by Bailey and they are just as popular in the second hand caravans market. In fact they are such an institution that on their sixtieth anniversary Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh received a guided tour of the Company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing head quarters in Bristol.

The first Bailey caravan was built by Martin Bailey in his garage in South Bristol in 1947 and was subsequently sold for the princely sum of £200. A year later F G Bailey Ltd was formed and went into production. Whilst you won’t be able to buy a Bailey caravan for £200 today, we can help our customers find cheap used caravans including all the leading brands. Bailey developed rapidly throughout the 1950’s eventually outgrowing its original site and moving to its present address at South Liberty Lane in 1960. In 1977 the company was purchased by the Howard family.

As pioneers in their field they have been responsible, from amongst other things, the Alu-Tech body shell construction system that many say is the most significant development in the production of leisure vehicle for over thirty years. Alu-Tech’s fully patented design technology is another innovation for the company and enables their coach work to be some of the best anywhere in the world. Buyers of second hand caravans know this means they’re kept safe and comfortable even in the toughest of conditions.

Bailey employs over three hundred people at their fourteen acre site and manufactures over seven thousand leisure vehicles per year, generating a healthy turnover of £90 million per annum.

Bailey caravans are a true market leader and strive for excellence in everything they do. That’s an ethos we share here at Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk/) and one of the reasons we are proud to sell top quality used Bailey caravans.
