Tour the UKs Arts and Food Festivals in Style!

Used touring caravans can take you on a tailor made holiday that can be adjusted to suit any tastes, and this versatility is what our customers of all ages agree. With the festival season fast approaching, promising exciting music, arts and merriment in the sun, what better way to catch some of our countries best festivals than in the comfort of a touring caravan? And while the youngsters may well be taking their cheap used caravans to music festivals such as Glastonbury, on this addition of the Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk/) blog we would like to focus on some of the more culture-based festivals that have a broad family appeal.

The Hay Festival of literature and arts which runs from 23rd may to 2nd June celebrates great writers from an amazing array of backgrounds including poets, scientists, lyricists, comedians and novelists, all amongst the staggering beauty of the Brecon beacons. There’s the chance to meet and talk to some of your favourite writers and a full program for kids including the ‘make and take’ craft area. There are a number of high quality campsites within minutes of the festival site including the Wye Meadow camping site which caters specifically for the festival.

Once described as the ‘Glastonbury of food festivals’ by the Observer food monthly, the Abergavenney food festival is truly foodie heaven. From 21st to 22nd September there will be celebrity chef demonstrations, master classes and tutored tastings as well as live music and poetry readings, making this the perfect weekend away for food lovers of all ages. There are also plenty of campsites to choose from in the idyllic countryside areas of Abergavenney and Hereford. On the welsh borders the Bridge Inn camping site is the grounds of a quant riverside inn boasting locally brewed ales and miles of unadulterated countryside for gentle walks and bike rides.

The Deer Shed music and arts festival in north Yorkshire is a great family friendly getaway. Running from the 19th – 23rd July it comes complete with a vintage arts fair, gourmet food stalls and crafts workshops for the whole family. Recognising its charm the festival was nominated for best family festival at the 2011 UK festival awards and continues to receive rave reviews every year. The beautiful Baldersby Park is the festival’s very own campsite, being the ideal space for your touring caravan. Here you can enjoy home from home comforts and all the security used touring caravans provide.

There is so much variety in the festivals this country produces, not just catering for young adults but capturing the British spirit of all ages. Many have their own caravan friendly campsites or there’s always one close by. At Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk/) we highly recommend an eco-friendly culture-filled festival mini break. So if you are yet to purchase a caravan, please visit our used caravan dealers website for the best selection of second hand caravans for sale in Yorkshire and beyond.
