Quick tips for tidying each room of your house

It’s easy to lose track of just how much junk is accumulating in your home – as leading house clearance specialists here at Just-Clear (http://www.just-clear.co.uk), we know that too well.

There is, though, some good news, which is that even those of us who lack time can just take little steps, every now and then, to keep individual rooms of the house tidy. Here, our experts in house clearance in London tell you how – but before you start, make sure that you have all of the necessary cleaning supplies to hand.

Living room

Put all of the items that are not supposed to be in the living room in a container. Brush off the cushions of the sofa, retrieving any missing items that have fallen into it. Brush off dirt from the sofa’s interior onto the floor, and replace and fluff the cushions. Quickly dust down the coffee table, neatly arrange any books and magazines and then vacuum or sweep up the floor.

Kitchen

Run a sink of hot, soapy water and place all of the dirty dishes into the water to soak. While the dishes are soaking, work your way through the kitchen, clearing out random junk from areas like the worktop, cupboards and floor.

Gather all of the items that shouldn’t be in the kitchen in one basket. For the items that should be in the kitchen but are not in their correct places, be sure to put them away. Wash down the worktop, sinks and appliances before sweeping and mopping or vacuuming the kitchen.

Bathroom

Pick up all of the dirty clothing and put it inside a washing basket. If there is litter around like empty toothpaste tubes, throw it in the bin. Wipe down the sink and bathtub area with a disinfectant wipe. Then, use a toilet brush and toilet cleaner to quickly scrub out the inside of the toilet.

This can be followed by wiping down the outside of the toilet with a disinfectant wipe, before wiping down the mirror with glass cleaner or vinegar. Gather the items that belong in another room into a basket, return those that do belong in the bathroom to their rightful places and finally sweep or mop.

Bedroom

Grab all of your dirty clothing and put it into a basket, then refold or re-hang all clean clothes. Put all litter in the bin, make the bed and pick up all misplaced items before placing them in a box. Straighten surfaces before sweeping and mopping or vacuuming.

As you can see, these are only very brief maintenance tips, but they shouldn’t generally take you more than 15 minutes per room if you want to keep your house reasonably presentable. If the job that needs to be done is bigger than this, then you are free to get in touch with Just-Clear (http://www.just-clear.co.uk) about affordable, efficient and eco-friendly house clearance or office clearance in London.
