How has Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk)
managed to last for almost fifty years as one of the leading used caravan dealers
West Yorkshire? We aren't being self-depreciating - the answer is that we
have simply always taken careful note of the needs of our customers, and worked
hard to fulfil them. But that's enough about us, because this blog is about a
certain other big name in caravanning that will celebrate its 50th birthday
next year: Elddis.
Elddis, alongside its sister brand
Buccaneer, takes pride of place in the vast portfolio of marques that you'll
find represented among our caravans
for sale in West Yorkshire. Its present caravan range is a high quality and
relevant one, consisting of the likes of the affordable, lightweight and
award-winning Xplore, the comprehensive and contemporary Avante, the refined
and lightweight Affinity and the stylish and intelligently-engineered Crusader.
But having built its first prototypes in 1964, the company has a long track record
of building excellent caravans, and is far from a fly-by-night concern.
As one would expect of a brand with
such a long history, Elddis has gone through various incarnations. 1998 saw the
company brought under the umbrella of the Explorer Group alongside Compass and
Buccaneer, two other big names in cheap used caravans.
Within a decade, the Explorer Group had launched the Xplore range that made it
the second largest caravan and motorhome manufacturer in the UK. But in 2009,
the decision was made to depart from the firm's then large, mass production
business model, in favour of one primary range of standard products.
It was at this time that the
business was rebranded under the moniker of the company's best-established and
most reputable product, Elddis. The Compass range was dropped, Buccaneer was
left in place as Elddis' sole sister brand catering for the more luxurious end
of the market, and the Elddis Xplore continued the good work already started by
the Xplore range. The model range was streamlined, covering more affordable
entry-level caravans as well as those at the premium end of the scale, as part
of a drive to heighten the profile of Elddis.
Fast-forward a few years, and those
initial fruits of the reshaped Elddis are coming onto the market thick and
fast, while Elddis models prior to this period retain their excellent quality
and value. In more recent times, Elddis has placed great store in its use of
Solid Construction, a method that sees old fashioned screws and bolts dropped
in favour of industrial-grade adhesives. The company says that its new models
benefit from the most exceptional strength, rigidity and lightness as a result
of the move, and as a major provider of used touring caravans West Yorkshire,
who are we to argue?
After all, Elddis continues to
produce caravans that are wonderfully strong, affordable and reliable. Why else
would they continue to be so strongly represented among the second hand caravans West Yorkshire
that we have to offer here at Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk)?
