As you’d expect given our
status as leading used
caravan dealers here at Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk),
we’re just slightly excited about caravans. We think they’re a fantastic way of
avoiding many of the inconveniences that commonly put people off travel, from
expensive hotel stays to overcrowded airports. But should you rent a caravan,
or buy one? And when is it most appropriate to do one or the other? Allow us to
shed some light…
First of all, there’s no
doubting the many advantages of renting a caravan to ‘try before you buy’.
There are many outlets across the country where you can hire a caravan, and
doing so can be a great way of sampling the caravanning lifestyle and getting a
sense of whether it really is for you. From the finer details of caravan
maintenance, towing and electrical systems to the use of water pumps and
awnings and discovering which places you can actually take your caravan, there
are so many aspects of caravan ownership that you can learn about first hand by
hiring, before you take the plunge on one of our caravans
for sale in West Yorkshire.
Don’t be fooled into
thinking that renting a caravan frees you of much of the responsibility of
ownership, though. Even those merely towing a rental caravan will need to have
comprehensive car insurance, with your policy needing to be brought with you
when you collect the caravan. You’ll also need to check whether your driving
licence needs to cover categories B&E. Younger drivers only need the B+E if
the combined gross vehicle and trailer weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes. In most cases
this will not apply, but big 4x4 drivers do need to check.
Remember, too that the
hiring price can be deceptive. Sometimes, extra is charged for delivery in addition
to the hire of non-essential equipment like cooking utensils. Then, of course,
you’ll need to consider when it might take more financial sense to buy a
caravan outright – which could be very soon, given the prices of our used caravans for sale here at
Albion Caravans. Indeed, buying a caravan used brings you so many of the
benefits of renting, except that once you’ve purchased it, you’ve purchased it,
and can even sell it on later if you wish. It means that you can use your
caravan however you like and take it as far as you like, without having to
worry about a rental company’s terms.
Anyone who peruses the
current Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk)
selection of used
caravans for sale in the UK, which you can do online as well as in the
display area at the rear of our building, will appreciate what an extensive
range we offer, encompassing so many specifications, ages and prices of
caravans from the leading brands. Nearly new caravans, in particular, represent
excellent value and can easily prove a better prospect than renting.
