What could be more Christmassy than LED light bulbs?

Now, we know what you're thinking. Here at Ryness Lighting and Electrical (http://www.ryness.co.uk), we've allowed our enthusiasm about LED light bulbs to get to our heads. We're seriously suggesting that you should give your relative or loved one a light bulb this Yuletide, rather than a book, some jewellery, socks... well, anything else would make more sense. Or would it?

In truth, LED light bulbs could be an excellent investment this Christmas. We'll leave you to decide whether actually wrapping them up and presenting them to someone, rather than just getting that latest celebrity autobiography, is the right move. But amid all of the preparations for Christmas, it's easy to get overexcited about those things that offer only short-term gains. Long after Christmas dinner has been eaten and the Queen's Speech is over, you'll still have those light bulbs to pay for.

Like a dog, a light bulb is for life, not just for Christmas, and the right choice of light bulbs can certainly last for what feels like a lifetime. But alas, so many of us still stick to those old-fashioned incandescent light bulbs. We swear that they're brighter, not to mention cheaper. We won't surrender them until the EU almost literally prises them out of our hands - but actually, you would be waging a pretty pointless war that could instead be ended by some fabulous LED light bulbs.

We offer an extensive range of LED light bulbs here at Ryness Lighting and Electrical, bulbs that are compatible with various dimmers, provide the highest quality light and come with multiple year guarantees. But perhaps it's just the headline benefits of this type of light bulb that you really need to know - such as the fact that they offer 100 per cent instant light, the moment you switch them on, as well as that there's no mercury content or UV radiation.

However, there are other advantages of LED light bulbs - very long term ones. We aren't necessarily very good at thinking long term when it comes to replacing light bulbs. When a bulb goes out, it's so much easier to just find the cheapest version of what you've already got, and put it in. But what if it was suggested to you that you could save hundreds of pounds over the years, simply as a result of investing in LED light bulbs?

LED light bulbs, after all, last at least 25,000 hours on average - the equivalent of about 25 years. Their life isn't even shortened by frequent use of the on/off switch. They're about 85 per cent more efficient than their incandescent counterparts - meaning that a bit more money spent this Christmas could save you so much more over the Christmases to come.

We'd like to think we've made a good argument for LED light bulbs being Christmassy - so why not pay us a visit, either online or at any Ryness Lighting and Electrical (http://www.ryness.co.uk) London store, to pick up a few for yourself?
